Jurisdiction Notes

Cape Coral has the largest canal system in the world (400+ miles), which serves as both stormwater conveyance and residential amenity. The South Cape spreader waterway system is designed to prevent saltwater intrusion. Stormwater management must consider impacts to the canal system's water quality and flow patterns.

Remember: These local requirements are in addition to the FDEP state construction permit. Both must be satisfied before breaking ground.
