SEO improvements — sitemap, OpenGraph tags, and structured data

Feature

Added a sitemap.xml covering all 50 state pages, local jurisdiction pages, and static routes so search engines can discover and index the full directory. Added OpenGraph and Twitter card meta tags to all pages so links shared in Slack, LinkedIn, or elsewhere show rich previews. Added JSON-LD structured data (WebSite schema on every page, BreadcrumbList on state and local detail pages) to help Google understand page structure and improve search result presentation.

Certification page accuracy improvements — community corrections

Community

Several corrections to the Inspector Certification Lookup page based on community feedback. CISEC's full name was corrected to 'Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control' (was incorrectly listed as 'Certified Inspector of Stormwater Equipment & Compliance'). Certifying organizations were also corrected: CPESC and CESSWI are issued by EnviroCert International, and CISEC is issued by Ecopliant CISEC — not IECA as previously shown. Additionally, states that only require a 'qualified person' knowledgeable in E&SC principles no longer display national cert badges, since those credentials are not named in permit language for those states. A note was added clarifying that in no-cert-required states, training provider certificates may serve as reasonable evidence of qualification.

Utah regulation data updated — community corrections

Community

Major update to Utah's stormwater construction permit data based on community feedback. Key corrections: permit number updated from UTR300000 to UTRC00000 (effective July 1, 2024), NOI submission now goes through EPA's CDX portal ($150 fee) instead of the former state-specific UEP system, inspection rain trigger corrected to ≥ 0.50 inches (was unspecified), and added the new Utah Registered Storm Water Inspector (RSI) credential. Also incorporated Utah Code § 19-5-108.3 (HB 507, effective January 1, 2025), which standardizes SWPPP review timelines: 14 business days for initial review, 5 business days for re-review.

Agency Contacts Directory

Community

Added a dedicated Agency Contacts page listing stormwater construction permit program contacts for all 50 states — including named contacts, direct phone numbers, email addresses, and links to agency contact pages where available. No more digging through agency websites to find the right person to call. Suggested by a community member.

Mobile-friendly Contacts layout

Improvement

The Agency Contacts page now uses a card-based layout on mobile instead of a wide table. Each card shows the state name, agency, named contact, and tappable phone and email links — making it easy to call or email directly from your phone.

Impaired Waterbody / TMDL Flags

Feature

Every state detail page now includes an Impaired Waterbody / TMDL Requirements section. States with permit-specific heightened conditions — such as California's Numeric Effluent Limits for impaired receiving waters, Pennsylvania's Enhanced E&S requirements for HQ/EV watersheds, New Jersey's Category One water protections, and Washington's 303(d) BMP requirements — are flagged with an 'Elevated Risk' badge. States where standard provisions apply are noted as such. A compliance risk many contractors miss.

Quick Summary on every state page

Feature

Each state detail page now opens with a 2–3 sentence plain-English overview of what the permit program requires — permit name, SWPPP, inspector credentials, and any state-specific quirks. Useful for getting your bearings before diving into the full details.

Inspector Certification Lookup

Feature

New page at /certifications surfaces the inspector certification data that was already in our database but buried inside state detail pages. Browse all 50 states by certification requirement level, filter by national credential (CPESC, CESSWI, CISEC, CESCL, QSP/QSD), and quickly see which states have state-specific credentials vs. accepting national certs.

Local jurisdiction data — California, Florida, and New York

Data

Added local stormwater regulations for 32 new jurisdictions across three states: 12 in California (LA, SF, San Diego, San Jose, Sacramento, Oakland, Fresno, Long Beach, Riverside, San Bernardino, Anaheim, LA County), 11 in Florida (Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, St. Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale, Hialeah, Cape Coral, Tallahassee, Miami-Dade County, Broward County), and 9 in New York (NYC, Buffalo, Yonkers, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Nassau County, Suffolk County, Westchester County).

Feature

You can now export any state or local jurisdiction comparison as a CSV file. Great for sharing with your team or dropping into a report.

Permit expiration dates for all 50 states
